Upgrade KLX 150 S


The coming of Kawasaki KLX 150 S can be an other alternative to Indonesian biker. An offroad motorbike with a proporsional size and style. With an 16" rim rear and 19" at front makes KLX 150 fit to Indonesian bikers. Some of them modify the wheels to be a supermoto. Commonly they change into 17" on road tires.

But there's differences if we want to use it on road. It will so heavy to reach the maximum speed.
So we need to upgrade it.

KLX 150 S has 10,33 hp/7.800 rpm power and 10,06 Nm/6.000 rpm of torque. With a simple touch we can upgrade it to 17,3 hp/8.875 rpm, and torque 14,77 Nm/7.640 rpm.

Here are the details.

Cylinder block and piston
Piston changed with 61,5 mm (stock 58 mm). With this kind of application we don't need to change the liner and lathe the crankcase. Piston from LHK product, we just need to modify the pin to 15 mm (stock 14 mm).

Cylinder head
In valve 27 mm to modify to 30 mm. Usually we can use valve of cars. We just change the sitting valve, don't need to change the valve angle.

Camshaft
For this part we need to make the duration into 270 degrees, and lift 2 mm.

Ignition
CDI changed which has higher limiter and can be set curve.

Exhaust system
We use free flow exhaust system, for example we use CLD product.
